Hastings students have an exhilarating experience at Oxford University

Potential future lawyers at Oxford

by Karen Hacon, Head of Year 12

Four of our potential lawyers (Maisie, Hayley, Isobel and Hediya) recently were lucky enough to attend Oxford University’s Law Faculty Open day, together with myself.

We travelled to London where we met Isobel at Paddington Station as she had been successful in her bid to have a day at the top law firm: Allen and Overy.

The first hurdle of finding Isobel overcome, we set off for Oxford. As the journey was going to be quite long, the university had arranged for us to stay the night at Hertford College: we were getting the full experience!

After having breakfast in what felt like a setting from Hogwarts, we set off to the Law Faculty where I spent the day learning more about the best ways to maximise our students’ chances of being offered a place and the girls were distributed amongst various colleges for lectures and lunch.

The experience was exhilarating but exhausting, so much so that none of the girls, nor myself, could even face a quick retail therapy session as we walked to the station!

Trips and events are arranged on a regular basis so our students can “Go further with Ark 6th Form East Sussex.”
